最近の若者言葉で「無理すぎる」のように「…すぎる」という言い回しをよく見聞きします。
英語でも似たような言い回しとしてtoo much of a—という表現があります。

⑥ temptationとの組み合わせで、「魅力的すぎる」という感情を表す：
I knew I should save the money, but the latest smartphone was too much of a temptation to pass up. お金を貯めるべきだと分かってはいたけど、最新のスマートフォンは見逃すにはあまりにも魅力的すぎた。

⑦ stretchとの組み合わせで、「無理すぎる～」という感情を表す：
Hoping to get a perfect score on the test without studying is too much of a stretch. 勉強せずにテストで満点を取ることを期待するのは無理すぎる。

あえてくだけた日本語訳を対応させてみましたが、いかがでしたでしょうか？入試の和訳問題で出題されるならば訳の調整が必要ですが、今回は「どのような感情が乗っかるのか」をイメージしやすくしてみました。

最後に、⑦のtoo much of a stretch とhope toを用いて⑧の日本語の内容を英語で表現してみましょう。解答例はイラストの下に薄い色でタイプしています。
