茈、もとい紫を表す英単語purpleを含めたIdiomをいくつか紹介します。

生成AIを活用して英語で得た情報をもとに、私の方で一部日本語に変換するなど体裁を変えています。

1. Purple patch – 全てがうまくいっている時期
例文: “Ever since she started her new job, she’s been on a purple patch.”

2. Born to the purple – 王室や貴族の家に生まれた
例文: “The princess was born to the purple, and she knew she would one day inherit the throne.”

3. Purple prose – 過度に装飾された文章

4. Purple heart – 戦場で負傷した兵士に贈られる軍事勲章

5. Purple cow – 目立つもの・珍しいもの

注：1.と8.は共にpurple patchですが、使われ方によって意味に差異が生じます。

当初は「色を表すIdiom」というテーマで記事を掲載しようと考えましたが、
１つの色だけでも十数個か二十数個ほどの表現がヒットするかな？と思い直し、
今回は紫をテーマにしてみました。
